Losing Those Pounds This Month…

It’s July and it’s the Summer! We have great weather here in Margate Florida and as we all know it’s beach season. However my body isn’t really ready for it. I got into the mode of getting back into shape and while I made some progress I have a ways to go. How am I going to do it? The Summer is already flying by.

Well no matter what time of the year it is, I have to lose this flab! I’m not disappointed in my size I just need to get toned.  How am I going to do it? No not with any “fast weight loss” tricks or starving myself (I really enjoy food).  I’m going to make some lifestyle changes and make an effort to exercise more. Blue Isle Apartments has a Fully-equipped fitness center so why not use it instead of paying for a gym membership?

Here’s how I’m going to lose some of those pounds and tone my body back into shape!

  • Giving up my “hearty” breakfast.  I’m going for fruit, no more bacon and breakfast cereals.
  • Meat 3 Days a Week- We’re not supposed to consume as much meat as we do now. It’s hard on our bodies, 3 meals with meat for the week will suffice.
  • More Greens- Vegetables and Salads. Before I thought I had enough of my greens and when I really think of it, I don’t.
  • No More Processed Foods- If it needs an ingredient list, I’m going to think twice about buying it.
  • Dairy- People everywhere will tell you to have dairy everyday. Nope that does a number on your body also, limit your dairy consumption to 3 days a week.
  • Exercise, Exercise & Exercise- At least 30 minutes a day!!!! Walk, run, dance, I’m getting more active!

The Weather is Changing…Be Prepared

Florida is closing in on the hurricane season and we all at Blue Isle need to be prepared.  The weather can get pretty crazy here and if we’re not properly prepared it wouldn’t be pretty. That’s the beauty of Florida isn’t it though? With a great location and mostly great weather comes the bad spurts. Remember these few tips on being prepared for the weather!

  • Do as your told- If you’re told to evacuate your area during bad weather, please do as your told and evacuate as soon as you can.
  • Create a Plan- If you aren’t told to evacuate you still need to prepare. Where are you supposed to go in case the weather gets foul? Do you have a central area to go to? Follow up on those questions
  • Supply Kit- Make a kit of supplies; first aid, food, blankets, water… full list

Keep an eye out on the weather and be prepared always.

Making your Art Pop!

When it comes to decorating my apartment at Blue Isle I really enjoy making my art POP! It’s a great technique I use to make my apartment really blend with my furniture. I have a neutral tone to my apartment and my art is vibrant and bold that is really does catch the eye!

Some of the art I added to my walls I’ve done myself. While I am definitely not an artist, i tried to use some of the techniques that famous artists have used. I’ve also bought art and both have come together to make my apartment look really nice at Blue Isle.

Here are some great examples of Art that Pops that you can use in your own apartment!

Okay, it’s Friday afternoon and I’ve procrastinated another year again. It’s nothing personal, but Father’s Day always sneaks up on me! What should I get my Dad?

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

I went to Amazon.com and as always, the gift wish list saved me for Father’s Day gifts:

  • Back Massagers
  • Box Set DVDs on Military and War
  • Flashlights
  • Exotic Meat
  • Documentaries
  • Cologne Sets
  • Gardening Tools
  • GPS
  • iPhone/ iPad
  • Outerwear
  • Universal Remotes
  • Car Care Kits
  • Power Tools Combo Kits

I know my father deserves the best and I’m sure yours does too. Don’t wait too late, but hurry and get your gift before it’s too late!

Individuals lining up to buy an iPhone at an A...

This morning I woke up with a big smile on my face.  June 15th, the day to reserve the new iPhone 4! Well, at least that is what I thought. I tried reserving it on the AT&T and Apple site, but error messages kept coming up and nothing was working.

I had a feeling that the site traffic would be crazy, but even after 1:00 PM? I still can’t reserve it. Will it be better to get the phone in stores? I’m not sure, but I guess patience is a virtue in this situation.

Did any one else reserve the phone or have problems with their sites?
