Throw Blankets

When I first moved into my apartment I had trouble unifying my accessories. I have a very eclectic personality and when I decorate it definitely shows. I like to choose different items and bring them together into one piece. It can get a little difficult but now I’m usually very happy with the end result.

How do I do this? I’ve started using throw blankets. I’ve always loved throw blankets and I’ve never really kept them out, until now. I never thought I could use them as an accessory or as a unifier for my living room.  Now I keep them out, they unify the room and they create a warmth to my apartment.

HGTV came out with 6 way to use throw blankets and they have come in handy!

  1. Neutral Beauty- Keep your blankets neutral if you have lots of color and pattern around.
  2. Comfortable- Lay your throw blanket against the back of your couch for the comfy look.
  3. Faux Trends- Use a faux fur to create texture in your apartment.
  4. Classic- Instead of laying your blanket against the back of your couch, lay you throw against the armrest for a classic look.
  5. Elegance- Use the same pattern for your throw as your pillows.
  6. Vibrant color- If you have a neutral room, add a pop of color!
