Coco My Baby
Well if you know anything about me you know I love animals especially my little puppy Coco. Coco is more like a child than a pet and the fact that he is probably bigger around than he is tall is proof of how spoiled he is. So when Coco started showing signs of pain in his back legs a couple weeks ago I was very distraught. He started having problems jumping in the car or up on the bed. He also didn’t want to go up stairs and he started to loose his energy. Of course as a worried mom I jumped online and started doing research
My possible self diagnoses included limes disease, hip problems and a slipped disk in his back. None of which are cheap. Rather than rush into the vet I decided to monitor him over the next few days. I even gave him a children’s dose of aspirin which seemed to help but he continued to get worse. So we finally went to the vet and after about $600 worth of tests we have a diagnoses. Of course my diagnoses was wrong. He has torn his ACL in his back left knee. The Irony behind this story is I have a torn ACL as well and I’m scheduled to have surgery next month. Coco’s vet recommends he also have surgery next month. What are the odds of that? Of course since I have health insurance my surgery will cost a lot less than his. Go figure.

It’s time for the 2010 Walk for the Animals. The Humane Society of Broward County holds the walk every year to raise money for animals’ care. The Humane Society of Broward County receives no government funding from national organizations. They are funded 100% by private donations and through special fundraising events such as the Walk for the Animals.
Last year 4,000 walkers raised over $480,000. Let’s make this year an even bigger success. Pets are welcome! Here are the details.

I Bet I Know What Fido’s Thinking
Can psychics really communicate with animals? There’s an interesting article on HowStuffWorks.com talking about how psychics claim they work with pets and wild animals. Having never worked with one, I guess I can’t say one way or the other if that’s the case. But I do try to take things with a grain of salt. I’ve had cats so long that I’ve learned a lot about how they communicate with humans, with each other, and what some of their more unusual behaviors could mean. But do I know what they’re thinking? For that matter, do their brains even work the same way as human brains? I would hazard a guess not, but who really knows?
Do you feel like you have a psychic connection with your pet?
Flea, Flea, Go Away!
Showing your pet some love.
There is nothing worst than to see your pet with fleas. They are irritating and dangerous to your pets. One adult flea can produce hundreds of eggs is a very short time! It is very important to keep fleas out of your life and your pets life. There is so much that a pet owner can do to rid your furry friends of fleas. I found this great article that can help you make sure that your home and your pets are flea free.
